kokosabre: Tbh it seems to lack a lot of the Shadowrun universe unless they provide and exposition in the first 10mins of the movie.
Also when they revealed the so called mysterious weapon in the trailer it made me really really laugh.
Alas it seems to be just a mix of Fantasy and Modern elements so highly doubt you can even argue that its inspired by Shadowrun which IIRC was a mix of Fantasy and Cyberpunk
In Dragonfall you´re fighting against a dragon with a beef against humans - if you would want to. you can belittle any kind of story arc that way - and even authors themselves made fun of themselves, when during infiltration of Apex, one of the sentences you can tell to an orc leader of the gang is the whole truth - which sounds so cheesy and cheap, that he just laughs you off and lets you pass.
What you call modern elements I would call Cyberpunkish at least - lots of neon lights, dark streets, power struggle...
But as I said, it seems it would be lacking in the story department (it might be rather simplistic), which is important department of Shadowrun Universe - well, we will see how it turns out.
