So, I want to play Hongkong as a Decker/Rigger, meaning I'd eventually want to equip two drones and a deck.

But, as far as I know, the only way to unlock a third weapon slot is to get Ranged Combat 3, which would effectively be wasted, as I won't use a gun anyway.

The Internet claimed Decking 3 also unlocks one more slot, but I had that since the start and it doesn't, I still only have two.

So, other than wasting Karma on Ranged Combat, do I have any other options?

That's strange, I always thought that one of the Decking levels should definitely unlock an extra slot. If that's the case then it's surely a bug.

Unfortunately, using karma on ranged combat is the only other way I know. You could always try looking around the base game files, see if there's something to edit - but I think this would be an engine issue and not something that can be easily modded.

As mentioned in this thread, there is a bug in the first 2 that may also be present in HK where you can get an extra slot for a weapon. Maybe you can get this to work for you. Of course that thread was about getting a 4th slot, not a 3rd. There is plenty of extra karma in the official games to waste a few points on what seems like a useless skill.

Myeah, I think I'll spend those 6 karma points on Ranged combat (already got 3 Quickness, so don't need to buy that).
