If you where here from the very beginning, you know that the developer has promised multilanguage support for Shadowrun Returns for YEARS. Finally, they implented it. Shadowrun Returns is now "Multi Language"

But careful, if you think that the developer transcript (yes, not much voice in both games) both, the game and the add-on in one move, in OVER A YEAR, your wrong. Nope, they just transcripted Shadowrun Returns, not Dragonfall.

Now it is possible, as a German player, sitting in Berlin. Playing in Berlin, a game about Berlin, in english.
Nice move hairbrained Scemes. (Memo to myself: Never buy a game from HBS again.)

you can send the same msg via email to them. I am sure that it will get their attention quicker
Im sure it will.
But it dont prevent potential buyers from making the same mistake like me.
The devs are not interested in my opinion, we already have had the pleasure.

I don't get all those complains with multi-language support. HBS said in many occasions that the sales from SRR doesn't justify the costs of translation. Are you seriously so thickheaded to demand translation from a small studio that doesn't have the resources at the detriment of improving the game? For what? Do you really have trouble playing in another language?
Here's an idea. Pull your head out of your ass and see the big picture. They can't. The studio prefer to spend their limited budget in improving the game. And they are doing a great job, with each expansion getting better than the last. They price their games low and they don't nickel-and-dime their customers. They have overdelivered in many cases and went beyond what was expected of them.
But still there are people that prefer to complain and demand shit just to feed their ego.

Bottomline is simple. Good translation costs money. Cheap translation is downright awful. As a Greek I have seen many awful translations (because, you guessed it! the cost is not justified by the market) and let me tell you the first thing I do is to change the language back to English.

Why don't you try to enjoy all the good stuff the game offers and don't get hang in a fucking detail?
It was clearly stated since the crowd-funding was launched that there would be no official translation of Dragonfall done. Same for Hong Kong by the way.
Of course it's a good reason if you don't speak English. There are games that were only ever put out in German, and they were never translated to English, you know? It's the way things sometimes go.

Fans can always translate it. Maybe a dedicated fan(s) can do it. Why doesn't one?

If you're just upset a promise was broken, well, it happens all the time. It's kind of like bugs in games, it's something you expect, you expect companies to break promises or not include things in games they said they would. Show me someone that trusts any company 100%, and I'll show you the sucker that was born during the minute.

Check my previous post: Harebrained Schemes stated from the get-go they wouldn’t do translations of Dragonfall.

If they had promised it, then retracted, I could sympathize with VoidByte concern. When I buy a game with announced features and don’t get the said features, I think I have a right to protest.
But we’re not in this kind of case here.

The lack of translation is still a problem, I fully agree with this, but there is no need to spend misinformation about "broken promises".
By the way, it seems like they did some internationalization work on their game, to allow easy fan-made localizations (check their official announcements, I don’t remember when I read it). Not really the picture that comes to mind after reading the first post of this discussion ;)

I wrote this, because i want to make a clear and solid Point for everyone who see the "German" language in SRR and think that the AddOn is translatet as well. The bundle offer i buyed says: German. And not "Maingame: German, AddOn not.". I feel betrayed now. Because i own this game since it came out on steam. I just buyed it again because i dont belive that GOG-Dragonfall will work with STEAM-Shadowrun-Returns (havent seen that Dragonfall is a standalone at this time). So i buyed the bundle witch clearly says: German. Now i have one game two times, and an english addon that i never would buy in english. And yes, that is the reason, why i would inform other people: Dont buy it, even it says: German. It is not!

Yes it is a problem for me to play in another language.
First, because is dont like english.
Second, if you have a word or a phrase that you cant translate, it will break the entire game-athmosphere if you have to google it.. especially with idioms.

Now I understand your problem better, but GOG is at fault here, not Harebrained Schemes.
They shouldn’t have labelled the whole bundle as available in German if only one out of two games really is.

In my opinion it should be enough to be entitled to a refund, but you’ll have to bring it to GOG officials as my opinion on the matter has no real value ;)

Or you might look for a fan-made German translation of Dragonfall, but I don’t know if there is one already. Should you choose this way, please share the results of your search here because it will probably be of interest for quite a bunch of people.

Shadowrun Returns and Shadowrun Dragonfall: Director's Cut have not been offered as a bundle in recent memory. Additionally, you keep referring to Dragonfall: DC as an add-on. Since the release of the Director's Cut in September of last year, it has been its own standalone game. The DLC version of Dragonfall was removed from the store at that time. Only people who purchased Dragonfall back when it was DLC can still access the DLC version. So, if you just purchased it recently, it is its own game, not an add-on.

If you are referring to the "Buy Series" button on the game's store page, that is not GOG's fault. The information that is displayed there is only for the game whose page you are viewing. The "Buy Series" button is just there for convenience. You would need to view each game's individual pages if you want to check their details. If I click the "Buy Series" button on Broken Sword 1, it would be unwise to assume that the System Requirements shown there would also apply to Broken Sword 4.

As w221 mentioned, you can contact support about receiving a refund. There is no guarantee they will issue one if you have already downloaded the game, but it can't hurt to ask.

Perfect occasion to start playing games in english, then ;)
Nope. Sure not.
While I sympathize with your plight, Harebrained Schemes, Steam and GOG are not at fault here. Both digital distribution vendors clearly provide language information in the info box on the game page. And HBS never promised to translate Dragonfall into German. I don't mean to sound hostile or anything, but more detailed research about the game you're planning on buying would have been in order, especially for someone who doesn't want to play English language games.
