It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Probably due to my own past idiocy. The .bin file was listed as being opened with VLC Media Player for some reason. Can't seem to fix (due to being computer illiterate.) Remedies?

Already tried redownloading the file after removing VLC Media Player from my PC, but the problem persists (the .bin file is now shown to open with the install launcher for some reason.)

Doesn't look like you are completing the downloads successfully. You are waiting for the "download complete" message aren't you?

I have no earthly idea why you think vlc is involved.

-edit- Now that I think about it, maybe you have it so that bin files are associated with vlc? If so, then you are trying to launch the bin file? If so, then stop that. You need to launch the .exe file in the installer. It will get what it needs from the .bin file without you doing anything unnecessary.

Yes, the downloads are completed before attempting installation.

The .bin file associated with the game for some reason showed itself to be opened by VLC, which is new (usually the .bin files associated with GOG games have no associated program shown in the image or properties folder).

Have been launching the installer .exe, how I get to that error message.

Your computer has a list of what file extensions go with what applications. It has nothing to do with gog or with gog files.

If you don't try to launch your bin file it won't do anything silly. Just launch the exe file.
The file type association doesnt do anything to your install. It looks like you already started the exe to install, but it seems like one or more files are corrupt, just download new using GoG Downloader or install via Galaxy ;)
Retried with GOG Installer, same issue.
Have you tried running the installer/downloader as an Administrative user?

That could be your AV/Security software interfering during the install. Assuming you have a clean download of the install files.
If you still can't get it working at this point, you should contact support and work with them.
Having similar issues here. File integrity (checked from installer) is okay. Tried to install normally and as admin, and in both cases is just stalls at around 85%. Thought that AV software could not be the problem, because if it's bugging I can't just close the installer by clicking [X]. But just to be sure I've turned off the AV and that seemed to work. Odd though because this is my 1st game ever to have such problems with my AV while nothing is reported or seems off...
Many GOG installations are reported by some people to "hang". It is often caused by AV. Sometimes people say that disabling AV does *not* help.

In every case that I've heard of, though, it is not just hanging. It really is doing the install - just really really slowly. To eliminate this possibility from the list, leave an install running when you go to bed and check back with it the next day.
