The sound works for me with Debian (unstable).
I'm also getting no sound on Xubuntu. I'm going to try to diagnose the problem. If I figure it out, I'll post my findings here.
I got it working on my Xubuntu machine. It was almost certainly a case of missing 32-bit lib(s). Which lib(s) exactly I couldn't tell you since I went with the shotgun approach and installed wine:i386, figuring that even though I haven't used wine in a really long time, I probably will sometime in the future, and installing the wine:i386 package installs pretty much every 32-bit lib under the sun.

All of the necessary 32-bit libs are listed on the game's page so you wouldn't have to worry about installing wine:i386 :)

Yes for me, using Mint 17.

I had this same problem in openSUSE. The ubuntu dependencies (libasound2-data:i386 and libasound2-plugins:i386) are not available packages for my Linux distro.

The good news is that I was able to solve the problem by installing alsa-plugins-pulse-32bit. Hope this is helpful!
