The Controls are horrible. The camera is constantly wonky from teleporting one friggin square to the right because i moved a guy one friggin square to the right.

Is there any way to change them?

as far as i know, nope....
the controls are very awkward but thats because when a gamer is used to pads/sticks or mosue they have a very hard time getting used to these dumb controls, yes we can call it by its name: the controls are dumb.

it takes time, took me lots of time when i had my 1st pc, i had a few games and wasn't spoiled like now with a fast pc and 1000 games (maybe even more)

took me some time to get the grips but then i kicked some computer behinds :D
throwing bombs shooting like a mad man...

mouse using is taking away the need of using our brain, its simple click and play and drag .
And the fact users have many games makes it worse, you start to compare and think: mmm? this game blablabla was better then shadow watch ...
thats inevitable that it will happen.

If you ready to spend some time and are ready for a whole lot of frustration like i had in the past when i bought it on cdrom, then you have a heck of a time playing it, its really good, it cant compare visualy, to nowadays games that copycatted this shadow watch ( invisble inc and other games like that)

I remember swearing and cursing a lot, and banging on the table with the hands :D
but i kept going and i got pretty far, i stopped playing it because i also had commandos to play and those controls were easier (mouse)

edit:

i see a jre folder (omg java game?) well maybe you can get in the code and change the keys?

1.6 F11 update screen

At any time in the game except (for loading screens) you experience Shadow Watch
screen going black, you can have it immediately update by pressing the F11 key.

well good for the info, F11 makes screen come back
after alt tab press F11 and voila its fixed again, i forgot about this key :D
but its ages ago i played it....

well that 'fixes' the alt tab problem

hi,

In fact you can customise the hotkeys. There's a text file in the cfg folder, keys.txt. Open it up, it's pretty self-explanatory. There are four controls there already, the standard WASD. You can add to them as you wish. I found it essential when I played it to add some more. Especially, to let me scroll the map using the arrow keys:

bind UP scroll_map_up
bind DOWN scroll_map_down
bind LEFT scroll_map_left
bind RIGHT scroll_map_right

The other ones I used were:

bind q turnleft
bind e turn_right
bind PGDN kneel
bind PGUP rise
bind TAB select_target
bind R run

Pretty useful as well to bind something to "red action"/"white action", i think I used the control keys.

hope that helps

Wavell: hope that helps
Well it's not what I had in mind, but at least it's something. At least now I can play the whole thing using the keyboard.

Thanks.
