Do you have the sw.grp file in the swp main folder, alongside the swp.exe ?

I am using the latest one,and I tried running it with every compatibility mode and it doesn't change anything.
I have the exact same problem as NuclearBurrito. The only thing that lets me launch it is disabling sound on start up. The I can play for a while, but if I jump into water or look at the wrong corner of the world the game hard crashes for me.
Same problem here. With sound disabled, it works too.
yeah im having the same problem.. I have Win7 64bit as well.. Iv read that its should work on Win7, but when i load it, the main window with all your options comes up, but when i hit play, it see the game begin to load, (the launcher starts to list all the stuff its loading) then it just disappears and nothing happens. If i go to task manager though i can see SWP running under Processes.. But not under Applications..

Too bad, id love to play the game with the high resolution texture pack.. I downloaded the game to our mini laptop at work, which runs WinXP, and it works perfectly..

Maybe its just not compatible with 64bit systems. Can't imagine why though..

here is the log file.. Apparently it runs into a problem and stops loading.

Works for me using Windows 7 64 Bit, and with sound.
I have an onboard sound card - Maximus IV Extreme - Z.

What sound cards are all of you using when having problems?

do you have v-sync enabled or disabled ? .. Disabled fixes probs for some people.
play with sound settings .. try different compatibility modes etc...

using a joystick or gamepad ? maybe it's messing it up.

Looks to be trying to load up some kind of USB device that is not working with it. I think sound and controller stuff was closely linked back in the day so maybe if you are trying certain controllers it's screwing with the sound and vice versa.
