I prefer my games without depth of field blur, but I cannot find that in the video settings for Shadow Warrior. I found discussion on the Steam forums that directed me to the game's config.cfg file, and that the line "pp_dof_enable" there controls depth of field. However, my config file doesn't have that line or anything similar to it and simply adding the line doesn't work. So, any help?

You must add that line and set it to off, like this.

r_draw_lens_flares "0"
pp_blur_enable "0"
pp_film_grain_enable "0"
pp_ca_enable "0"

That is from my config file. You can also type the commands into the console. Note that you must save your game for some of the commands to stick. The Depth of field setting might be in the game's menu.

r_draw_lens_flares "0" which turn off the dirt on the screen, will not stick after saving. To make that setting stick or make other settings stick if you are having trouble add the line to a new text file. Save the file and name it autoexec.cfg. Put the autoexec.cfg file in the same folder as the game executable. Settings in the autoexec.cfg file will be executed each time the game is run.

If in doubt about a setting or you want check what it does use the console in.game.

I wish developers would not put all this crap in games, they could at least give us in game options to turn it off. Thankfully Flying Wild Hog did the smart thing and left the console and commands functional so we can turn it all off to see the game in it's full glory. And boy what huge upgrade it is visually with all those things turned off.
