I... I really don't know what to say about the ending. Finished it off last night, and I just felt like I was holding my hands out expecting a gift and got a high-five instead. Nor did the very last ending bit where the dragon comes out and eats Wang make any sense to me. I feel like I might have missed something or just not understood, but I really hit the Main Menu scratching my head and trying to figure out if I was satisfied or not.

I was playing on "Hard" difficulty, I can't remember what it's called, third from the top. The final boss was kind of a joke. At that point I was something around level 35, had the SMG that would give you a free clip of ammo every time you reloaded at the cost of only using common upgrades (which isn't really a huge burden considering you can shoot forever, and it's especially nice if you slap a life drain gem in there.) So for all the epic build up, the talk of the world needing saved, the talk about how great change and destruction to the world would flood out if the gates weren't closed... The last little bit just didn't have the weight I was expecting it to.

Thoughts?
Can't really argue with that, though what I took from the ending is that Wang fucked up, Mezu was right that opening the gates was a stupid idea, and Wang made things worse for basically everyone in the end. Maybe that's just me, though.

Of course, it also serves as a convenient way of depriving Wang of his arsenal for a prospective expansion or sequel; having to cut his way out of a dragon would explain why he's back to using just his basic sword and handgun.
This sums up my feelings on the ending as well. I hope an expansion is in the making to offer a more satisfying ending then what we got.
