There are some modern effects in this game but the graphics look like crap otherwise, with textures and character models that look like something off of an Xbox 360 launch title (lipstick on a pig...). Considering the "Hard Reset" pedigree I am immensely disappointed.

However, during the first fight scene, and when looking at anything reflective, my FPS drops to 20. In a game where the graphics are this bad, my FPS shouldn't be so low.

I just bought this game during the sale and I can't see what the reviewers here saw in this as all I'm seeing is a poorly-optimized game that is graphically humiliated by a console and has "combat" that consists of mindless button mashing.

Just one question: have you tried rebooting your computer after installing?
I had some pretty extreme graphics glitches after installing yesterday, but a reboot cleared everything up. I also have glass reflections on, and high or ultra on many of the graphics options.
Follow up. The Graphics glitches I saw returned. That included rolling scan lines, reflected areas on the screen (that is, parts of the screen showed a reversed image) and flickering artefacts everywhere.

In the end what worked included installing the DX redist from June 2010, and overriding the game graphics in Catalyst. Don't know if anyone else was having issues with the graphics, but this is what worked for me.
No artifacts nor glitches on Nvidia.
I know this is an old topic by now, and OP is probably long gone. However, if anyone else has frame rate issues there might be a "solution". Because I also had really weird frame rate issues. I've got a Intel Core i5-4670k, Radeon R9 280X, 16 GB RAM and couldn't get more than 30-40 fps in 720p on low(!) settings. Then I read on a forum that I should try running the game in windowed mode. Doing so I could run the game in 1080p with high settings overall in 60p no problem.

I'm just a layman when it comes to computers, but if anyone knows what's going on, feel free to share. Now I'm running in windowed mode, so I got a windows bar at the top, but I'll happily take that instead of the sub-par frame rate and low graphics settings I had before.

edit: Perhaps I should add that my display is 1080p/60 Hz and I'm running Windows 7, 64-bit if that should matter.
