me and my borther want to play this game coop, I have it on GOG and he has it on steam, is there a way we could play together without having either of us buy a copy of the game on the other's platform ?

I assume you are asking about Shadow Warrior 2? If so, yes there is crossplay between the Steam and GOG builds.
