Nice. Installed the game yesterday and kept wondering how much prettier it could look if it had been a PC exclusive. And voila, here's the answer it seems. :D

Okay, I think I'm not applying this one. It seems that the guy just copied his whole data folder after he was "done". That's both stupid and illegal. He's basically offering ALL of the original game's assets (with the exception of the ones he actually did alter) making the distribution of this package illegal, additionally the archive is at least twice as big as it should be (the whole audio folder seems to be unaltered, why the hell would he include all of the original game's audio assets then???).

Too bad. I'll consider using this patch once the archive has been redone and limited to the files which actually were created for this mod.

Thanks for told us about the mod, the game look better and it runs betters in my pc ( added bonus in my particular case).

If you already own the game then it is not illegal. I doubt the mod author got any $$ from his trouble.

It is illegal to share copyrighted material without getting permission from the legal owner or unless the game's terms of use state otherwise - I'm pretty sure that the Mod DB's terms of service state something about this as well. After all, the "mod" basically contains like 99% of all of the original game's content. It doesn't take much more than a cracked exe to turn this "mod" into the full game. That's not possibly okay.

That he's not making any money from this doesn't change anything about it. It's not like seeding a torrent gives you any money and still people pay fines and even go to jail for that.

But even from a purely technical standpoint - including hundreds of megabytes of unaltered data that everyone who wants to apply this mod already has is just unprofessional, a waste of traffic and space.

I downloaded and diff'd with the original data folder, then copied only over the new and adjusted stuff. The final 7z file I made was about 700M, instead of the original 1165M, so definitely some reduction.

But in all honestly, you're kinda just hurting yourself. Sure, this guy shoulda done a better job packing up his new textures. But these really do look amazing in game! I legally bought the game, I have no guilty conscience downloading this mod.

Edit: Also, if anyone cares (like I did) to turn these menus off, you can go into the data\scripts\menus\english and rename release.msc to debug.msc, and release.msc.msc to release.msc. Apparently this is an older cheat, and none of the actual adjustments for this mod changed these files.
