TL;DR The wine wrapper is poorly optimised. Not recommended for anyone running on a low spec machine

Something I noticed about running this game on mac.
FYI I have an early 2015 Macbook Air 1.6 ghz 8gb ram - if you have a more powerful machine I assume this probably doesn't matter to you.
When installing the game normally and running through the provided Wine wrapper - my laptop gets really really hot and the fans go completely nuts. Definitely not good to play it like this.
However, when running it through win 8.1 parallels VM - the laptop doesn't break a sweat at highest settings.
If you are dual booting, I assume the results would be similarly good.
1440x900 doesn't work but when you set the resolution down to 1280x800 it loads fine in parallels without having to set to windowed mode or sth like running most games through parallels.
If this is an option for you I would suggest installing it on the windows side.
