When I installed this game earlier on another pc (Vista) it runned smoothly..
But after when I got Windows 7, it will only go too the intro.. But thats it. After that it turns black, and goes back to my desktop.
Please need advice, since I can't play it, and it is the best game i know about.
Ps. Glad this site exist, I bought the game here after my original copy got cracked when my son smashed it with a hammer.

If you right click on the shortcut for the game and go to properites and then the compatibility tab you can set it to run in different OS modes. You could try running it as vista or xp and see if it will run then, also tick the run as administrator box as well.

I never used to have this problem, but for some reason I think with latest patch or after a windows update, when I have freshly installed the game, it runs once. The next time I open the game, the intro video plays, then the screen goes black and nothing else. I can only Sign out of windows accounr or restart to get back to windows.

The solution I found for this after realising it was happening on the second time I ran the game after an install, was to delete the CONFIG file from the 7kaa game directory.

Go to the drive where the game is saved, GOG Galaxy\Games\Seven Kingdoms - Ancient Adversaries , find the DAT file labelled CONFIG and delete it. The game then runs fine for me, and I just have to adjust the game settings each time. (I.e. game speed, show unit path etc).

I have tired everything this post suggest, but I can't get the game to do anything other than load and play the intro video. I am not the greatest with computers, so any help please keep it simple to do, or walk me through it step by step.
