What do you know about the workings of diplomacy? Is there some kind of relationship level or something? Or a random personality?
Just played a game, 3 humans CPU + me(4) and 2 Fry CPU. I end up allied with yellow and red, one of the Fry CPU's becomes a threat to everyone and kills off everyone except me and yellow. I saved yellow at one point from death and he ended up building back up larger than me by the time we managed to kill that pesky Fry. But by then a new kingdom had appeared, Orange.
So the fry is gone and there's this weak new nation that has to die, my only option is military since all my resources were out, after almost killing Orange yellow UNALLIES ME AND GOES TO WAR. That ****! He crushed me.
The option where two people can win as allies was on so why did yellow decide I deserved to die? :| Was it because I kept trying to get him to go to war with Orange?

I have played this game thousands of hours since I first discovered it not long after it was released.

What I've learned about diplomacy: It only delays wars. No one is your friend in this game. You are better off stomping them out as soon as you can either completely or crippling them and charging them tribute to keep them from growing too fast.

Seriously. No matter how good you are to a kingdom they will eventually get greedy and attempt to conquer you.

And you have to constantly race even against your allies. If you're happy occupying a small island or a small corner, well, they're not. They'll fill and conquer the entire map and when they run out of room they'll want yours too.
