Reading the reviews and posts here, I get the impression that there are many people around who are familiar with the older versions of the game. I have a few questions regarding these older versions:
- Are you playing the Amiga, the C64 or the old PC version? Are there significant differences between these 3 versions? What about critical bugs?
- Is there a way to run the Amiga version under WINUAE or another emulator? Is there a working configuration for Kickstart 1.3 or higher (I read somewhere that 7COG requires Kickstart 1.1 or 1.2)?

And is the Commemorative Edition really so bad? Apparently some political correctness (don't massacre natives twice - which is historically incorrect) and some hand-holding (clear objectives at least in the early stages of the game) were introduced, and there is some doubt whether the 7 cities of gold still exist to be looted. Is there anything else worth mentioning?
I read the old game was finished when the map was fully explored. What about the Commemorative Edition?
What do people think who have really played both games, original and commemorative?
I don't think the old C64 or Atari versions are "better" than this one.

Most reviewers are just talking out of nostalgia. Also some don't seem to realize that this isn't a recent "remake" but it's the game that was released in 1993 ~ 3 Months after the 500 year anniversary of Columbus reaching America (the actual America, not "USA") for the first time, thus the "Commemorative Edition" part of the title which the reviewers seem to have missed believing this somehow is not a PC game.

I never played the original C64/Atari release, only this version, but as far as I can tell besides the graphical remake the basic gameplay is essentially the same but this version adds a bit more complexity to make it more interesting, although even in this game the gameplay still remains a bit simplistic.
