Hi, anyone got this working on Windows 7?
I haven't bought anything from GOG since upgrading to 7, as some of my games (Sanitarium, Fallout 1/2) won't work on 7. GOG support's response was "our games aren't meant to be played on Win 7".
Just wondering if anyone's succeeded running this game on 7?
From most sources it seems like most all agree that the original Serious Sam games run really well in Windows 7, the Serious Engine is very well coded and also very smooth. Ironically i have heard the opposite of the HD versions, which have or have had issues with Windows 7. I would suggest downloading the game's demos and seeing how they run on your computer, that will give you a general idea.

I'm playing Serious Sam on Win 7 64 bit with no problems. Looks great -- plays great - lots of fun.
I can also confirm it runs great on Win7 x64. The only problem I ran into was trying to run it in widescreen (1920x1080) using the opengl renderer. This was easily fixed by running it with Direct3D renderer.
I recently played through both TFE and TSE under Win7 and had no issues using Direct3D.
I own the classic ones and HD ones all work 100% on windows 7 Pro X64 all i did for better game stability si put windows 2k/XP System32 DriectX files from directx 8 like Dplay.dll and others that are not installed anymore with Vista and 7. I got games working in windows as far back as Master of Orion 2/3 Win95 EXE and even games like Resident Evil 2/3.
other addons for older games i use are 3DFX Glidewrapper

Missed your first message. Can you boot into game and get to menus? If so, are you using Direct3D (DirectX) or OpenGL for video? I would also right click on the executable SeriousSam.exe and select properties then navigate to the compatibility tab and enable Disable Visual Themes along with Disable Desktop Composition.

I'll try to help if I can but I don't own the GOG version of Serious Sam.

Thanks for replying! Well, firstly, after i read the post, i tried to figure out what to download. I tried to find OpenGL and Direct3D and did not find them! The game is not from GoG! It's original! On windows 7, when i double click it, it seems it will be launched..! Although an errors pops up mentioning that "SeriousSam.exe stopped working" and it shuts down! I would like to know what to do from the beginning! I have only the game installed! Neither else nor I know how to use the "renderers" mentioned previously in this post! Thank you for help, pal! Even if all the effort is fruitless!

P.S. I tried the trick with the compatibility stuff but it didn't work either! I tried with Windows XP mode, too, which I downloaded from microsoft.com! Nothing more than a crash again!
Serious Sam: The First and Second Encounter run fine on Windows 7, I got my hard copy of Serious Sam Gold to run on my current Windows 7 setup so I would imagine the GOG versions run fine as well.

Any ideas so I can run it too? Because I can't!
Thank you guys for the interest in helping me! I solved it! GameSpyArcade should have done the job! Thank you all!
