I have a modest but relatively new machine, with Windows 7 64 bit edition. I load the games and the resolution is beyond terrible, as shown in these files. (for both games)

Is there a way to adjust video settings without being in the game menu? I can't even see the game. My resolution is 1440 x 900.

Not sure if this will work out, but here is a link to a site that tells you how to set it to a widescreen resolution within the game files:

It also works with the Second Encounter as well.
