Just booted up this game for the first time, and there's nothing on the main menu. The intro with the guy at the computer plays, but when I skip to the main menu it's just the computer screen background and nothing else. No text whatsoever, I can't start the game or change my options.

I changed the resolution in the config file to see if maybe that'd help, but it didn't work.

I should also mention that I'm using Windows 11, and I'm wondering if that caused anything.

Looks like it. I've the game installed on a Windows 10 PC and the main menu shows just fine. What's the resolution you've picked btw.?

Have you tried running the game with the Peixoto patcher?

I did give that a try, but the game just booted up with a completely black screen. I heard the audio from the two intro videos, but nothing else.

Those are black for me as well when using Peixoto but after those two it should start showing the game.

Turning off Forced Resolution did allow the game to show up for me, but the main menu is still missing all it's text.

Does Windows 11 still allow you to use the compatibility mode? Might be worth trying if using compatibility mode (Windows 10 or 7) would have a positive effect on the game.

I tried compatibility mode for Windows 7, Vista and XP, but neither worked. There wasn't an option for Windows 10 compatibility, but I did try Windows 8. Sadly, that one didn't work either.

I guess this really is a Windows 11 problem then. I don't really have any idea how to fix it. Maybe someone from the GOG support team does.
