Has anyone else experienced random crashes to desktop?
They happen every now and then, there's no error message. The screen turns black for a second and after that, I'm back to the desktop. A residual DosBox window remains on screen for a couple more of seconds before closing too.
It always happens during races, usually when I'm close to finishing it.

Hi, I know this topic is solved but I just thought I'd share my solution to this problem.
I changed the memsize from 16 to 32 in the DOSBOX config. Now when I get to the point where it crashes the game slows down and/or jerks but doesn't crash out. I've also noticed that it does this more often the further out in front you are.
Like I say, I know the problem is solved but thought it might be worth mentioning.

Changing the memsize from 16 to 64 fixed the game for me and smoothed it out visibly too

I did some testing here today (I just saw your post). So far so good (I changed it to 64). I'll try it with the championships later and let you guys know the results.

Thanks for the tips! :D
I have the same problem. I going to "play" with the config file...
The memsize trick did it for me most of the time after setting it to 64 (I still suffered some crashes, but it was bearable). After having the game crash on me twice just after beating the very last race in the Bullet League, I set it to 128. Had no crashes since then (and did beat that darn race, yay!), so you guys might wanna set it to 128 from the start.
After I had set memsize to 128, the game still crashed a few seconds before finishing the last lap of the last race (or even before), I was able to finish only the first championship by temporary setting details to minimum. Well better than nothing...
