Hi folks,

I was really diggin' the Land Rover and Toyota LandCruiser. When the Cherokee was unlocked I switched to it expecting more progression, but it handles very badly. Always jumping around and spinning out. I was hoping for some tires and differentials like with the other two, but they gave me two engines. I didn't need HP, I needed stability and control! :) I can't win many of the level 1 championship courses, and the Cherokee can't even make it up the slopes in the level 2 championship. I figure I gotta be missing something obvious.

So I'm writing you folks to ask for tips and hints. I searched for walkthroughs, etc., but all I find are cheat codes. I don't really enjoy using cheat codes. I prefer to enjoy the game as it was intended.

Would someone offer some helpful tips to get me unstuck, please?

Thanks in advance.
Whenever a vehicle is particularly spin-happy, I always look for a way to increase the contact (both surface area and duration) between the wheels and the ground.

When the vehicle is light enough, make the suspension softer, and then try to drive as smoothly as possible (being especially careful not to hit the bumps hard). Pick your path and use your brakes carefully.

Similarly with tyre pressure -- the softer the tyres, the greater the surface contact.

If you can adapt your driving to these constraints, you should be able to win some better gear.

I didn't spend too much time with the Cherokee myself -- as soon as I'd won the next vehicle, I moved on to that one -- so I don't have any more-specific recommendations; however the above technique has served me fairly well in general.

Let me know how it works out.
