Since switching to an ATI card the other day, a black bar shows up on the left side of the screen when I run Screamer..any way to fix? I have the latest drivers.
This question / problem has been solved by hansschmuckerimage
There are a lot of settings that you could play with... just open dosboxScreamer.conf in the editor of your choice. Most video options are located under [sdl], [dosbox] and [render].
For example you could try to force normal VGA resolution by changing fullresolution=original to fullresolution=640x480 and disabling the scaler by changing scaler=normal2x to scaler=none
Another reason may be (if you have a widescreen monitor) that your video driver is trying to enable aspect ratio correction. You'll have to disable that in your driver's control panel.
Yeah I tried the first suggestion already, and just now the rest..same thing. :(
Don't have a widescreen monitor either.

Hmmm,, I'm really, really confused... why would a gfx driver screw up displaying (of all things) a 640x480 image?
Can't really think of a reason... maybe you could try forcing the output resolution to your screens native resolution and using opengl output to do the scaling...
