Thanks!

If someone from GOG reads this: If you look at the store page of Schizm, you'll notice that it says Schizm needs only 1 GB, under "System Requirements", while the "Size" is more than 7 GB. There is apparently something wrong.

There were two DVD-versions of Schizm. One released in parts of Europe with an FMV intro sequence and one released in the US with an audio only intro (if memory serves).
The GOG version of the game is 8Gb in size, I rememer that the CD version had two install options, 200Mb and a full install of 3Gb aprox. The GOG version launches with the original FMV CD version intro but better quality, so it seems to be the European DVD version.

Good to hear.

I remember the developer was very reluctant to release the CD version at all but was forced by the publisher. They had to reduce the graphics quality and also omit a few of the puzzles.
Certainly in the CD version, although looking great, the reduction of graphics quality was noticeable. I guess it was due to the detailed graphics and smooth transitions in the original plan.
Im fairly certain this is the CD version here on GOG. I just installed the 3Gb CD version from back when, running it in Win10 in an WinXP compatibility mode and it's the exact same intro as the GOG version. This old installation doesn't look as good as the GOG version, but both look a lot worse than the old installation on my 10 year old WinVista system.

It's definitely the DVD version as it includes all the puzzles that are missing from the CD version.
