At some point I bought "Schein" on GOG.
In my library now it's called "Schein Base" and there's a new "Schein" in the store. What's the difference?

edit: I saw on gogdb that the new Schein download is about 20% smaller than the old one, but I could not find informations about the difference when it comes to the game itself.

Well, GOG support was useless. This was their response:

Hello,

Indeed I am afraid that because the game was previously delisted and lately reintroduced to the store there is a version discrepancy and so the game won't be shown as owned by you in the store.

That said, you should still be able to install the game without any difficulties and enjoy it.

It might be best if you reached out directly to the developers of the game in order to clarify the differences between the two releases:

Thanks.
Just to add to the answer, today I found Schein in my library. I owned Schein (now Schein Base). Looking for what has happened I found this thread. I also checked my order list and found a free order for Schein with this descritption:
"DISCOUNT – GIVING AWAY THE RE-RELEASED VERSION OF SCHEIN TO EVERYBODY WHO OWNS THE PRE 2017 VERSION (WHICH IS NOT AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW) - THESE ARE EXACTLY THE SAME GAMES. MERIDIAN4 HAS AGREED "
Schein has been (re-)added to my library as well. I had sent an email to Zeppelin Studio as GOG suggested and I received the following response on 13 February.

Thanks for reaching out.
Apparently the transfer from Schein to Schein Base happened when our distributor took over the store page on GOG.
We are not handling the online store presence of Schein anymore, but I have reached out to our partner, trying to get you a code for a fresh download of the game.
I will keep you posted.

Best wishes
Michael

I'm not sure if it was Zeppelin Studio that convinced the publisher to give the game to everyone who previously owned it, whether GOG convinced the publisher to do so, or a combination of the two, but I'm glad it happened this way rather than on a per-customer basis.
