It's nothing new, this happened a while ago (apparently). SR4 Re-Elected was forced upon everyone who bought the Game of the Century edition, the old entry removed from our libraries, no offline installer available, etc. Maybe you can "rollback" if you use Galaxy, but that's entirely beside the point of what they did.

I even looked in my purchase history from several years back and they retconned the product name there too. Literally changed it to say I purchased something I did not. As far as I am concerned they came into my house, took a product I paid for long ago, threw a "shiny new version" at my feet and said tough shit.

Scummy and the last straw from a company that has slowly gotten worse over the years and strayed far from what they originally stood for.

Just another example of why physical ownership is important, that is lost on todays consumers.

I have my offline installers, completely free of all that epic account garbage, but not everyone is so fortunate.

Ah, I see. I never bought the fourth game.
I have SRIV over at steam. Read then that Nordic would come with an update, that so called re-elected. I have the game of the century there. So for a while i turned update to only updating when starting the game and i played it offline.
Now since a while they added legacy under the beta tab. That turns out to be the old game of the century edition. So if you have also the steam version, then go to options, go to the beta tab and select sriv_legacy. And yes, you will have all the dlc's that you had purchased before.
No idea how the situation is now on gog. With fallout and bloodrayne they added the classic installers as well. That must then also be possible for SRIV.

Thank you for mentioning this. I'm reverting back to the pre-Epic clusterfark right now. Hopefully it won't require the Epic Account. Still looking to see if SR3 needs an Epic Account on GOG's version (because I'm fed up with Steam's buggy nightmare of an SR2 port).

Nope, doesn't need an epic account. Just rollback to legacy and play. And GOG's version of SR3 doesn't need epic. Is same as the steam version. As for SR2; be sure to use Gentlemen of the Row from Idolninja before you launch SR2. GoTR is a large multimod that also fixes many things. Still, even with that it is recommend to save often. But it crashes far less and car handling is also betrer with GotR.
