I've been having some audio issues with SR3 cars. I no longer get consistent engine or brake/powerslide noises. And most of the time the sounds come late or not at all. My audio drivers are up to date. And I've recently reinstalled game but it looks like the problem keeps coming back. Any advice?

BTW, I'm running Windows 8.1.

It's a well know issue for Saint Row 3 & 4. All you need to do is opening VLC Player on the background, then launch the game and the problem might be fix.

If no, just paused any sound or music with VLC and pause it, then launch SR3.

I've had the same problem, with SR3 on Win10. The strange thing is that it never happened until recently: after about 30-40 hours of play.

It makes a huge difference to the atmosphere when driving. I've downloaded VLC and will try what you suggest.

I am also having this issue: the tire and engine effects don't play except occasionally when the tire screeching effect will play nonstop no matter what I do.
