This game crashes now and the unofficial patch that use do make it work seems to be nonexistent now. Is this game just another in the long line of gog versions that do not work anymore? Seems to be an epidemic lately.

It works for me and many others, not for everyone tho. There was unofficial patch that would not improve overall stability but rather make you connect to private multiplayer server(it's dead) instead of gamespy(also dead).
