Do we have the latest patch version on Sacrifice, i can remember a lot of patch last time i tried to update my version but now most of the links a dead.
Hi Hamtarotaro,
The Sacrifice game you buy at GoG.com is patched at the latest version, so there's no need to find another patch.
Isn't this marvelously convenient?
Merci! :)

the pope has spoken with words of wisdom and enlightment!
it would be egregious not to agree with you :)
Hmmm, when I went into the multiplayer bit it said i needed to download patch 3 first.....
Same here, and I really wanted to try multiplayer now that I have a cable modem unlike when I first bought the original version.
When I enter the multiplayer menu I get the following:
Local Game - click on this crashes to desktop every time
Internet - brings up the Internet lobby. I get the notification about the patch update, but when I click on a gametype in the upper-right box (Allied, Domination, Skirmish, Slaughter, or Soul Harvest) the 'Create a Game' button becomes active. I have successfully started a game via this menu.
TCP/IP - asks for an address for a direct connection.
Hi all,
I have been a SAC player for 8 years now. this game is awesome. There still is a small but active player community.
When you join the SAC lobby currently a message pops up telling you that you do not have patch 3 (erroneously) and that you should also get a new patch v.1
While it is true that you need patch 3 - GOG has the proper patch and you can indeed play games online. (Many of the current Sac players come to the lobby on Saturdays.)
The new patch v.1 is a patch created by other veteran players named Darkmoon and Dog - who have created a patch that will lead you to a server they host instead of the Gamespy server. (I will invite Darkmoon to these forums to explain his reasons.)
Personally, I find the v.1 patch confusing to new players (as evidenced by these forums) and have asked Dark to remove his bot and bring the players on his server back to the gamespy server at least for the next while. Confusing new gamers and dividing a minuscule gaming community to start with makes no sense to me regardless of benefits.
I hope you guys have as much fun in SAC as I do - and don't despair if you have trouble beating the vets, in time you'll pick all the multi-players tricks as well.
Cheers,
Majorlag
Greetings Saccers!
I apologize for the confusing [HelpBot].
The gog version of Sacrifice does come fully patched (official updates) so rest at ease, however ...
The UpdateV1 we (the sacrifice community) made (unofficial), addresses the following issues:
- MultiPlayer chat crashing issues
- Spam/Flooding
- Rank malfunction
- Player game hosting issues
You can download the Updatev1 here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GTD9G83H
The way this update works is by moving the Multiplayer connection to a different chat server. Allowing us to modify what's needed now that Shiny and GameSpy have abandoned the lobbies and refuse to fix any issues.
This was made in pure hope to keep the game alive and growing. We hope to see the old players and we welcome all new comers!

wyt (aka Dog, aka Waffless - pick a name already sheesh!),
Thanks for clearing that up here in this new SAC forum.
See you in the SAC game lobby!

Part of the problem I noticed too for XP users is that after installing V1, the pagefile problem crops up. Patched with V3(?) only via GoG's installer is usable under almost any config (so far for me). Otherwise, no.. I don't think I can put up with rebooting twice to set my pagefile. ><

Ah I see, well I re-packed the installer with the paging file fixed version.
Here try this installer:

Well when you get a chance let me know if it works for you. It seems to work fine with Sacrifice players who own the original disc,
Things have been pretty hellish lately. I will get a chance within this week, but I don't know when. Sorry Wyt!
