A small note to everyone downloading Sacrifice from gog.com.
You will need to update Sacrifice, this is an unofficial Patch user-made but necessary.
"Gog.com comes fully patched" - true but this changed something that the regular CD owners of Sacrifice do not have, hence the need to update so both original Sacrifice CD owners and gog.com players can play online together.

You will find what you need at:

Sacrifice Planet

If anyone has a problem with the installer, please ask.
The community is growing slowly but surely. We wouldn't want any decline in players to destroy this outstanding one of a kind classic.

1) Download and Install [Manual Patch]

Upon installation please make sure you select the correct installation folder.

e.g:
C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Sacrifice\
C:\Program Files\Shiny\Sacrifice\

I will keep the site updated with the latest game updates. Enjoy.

i downloaded and installed the gog patch from the site you said and its not working. When i downloaded it i got a zip file called gog_patch, unzipped it and got an installer called SacUpdate(GOG) and when i install the patch it creates a folder called C:\Program Files\Shiny\Sacrifice\ and it installs fine but the game doesn't read it and when I go to C:\Program Files\Shiny\Sacrifice\ there's two applications downloaded. One has a picture of a Sacrifice game logo named Sacrifice and is 864kb and the other one is a application extension named gamespy.dll and is 132kb. and if i click on the Sacrifice application it says "This application has failed to start because share.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." I've download and installed the files many time and same thing every time, help me what am i doing wrong.

Find the two files to be replaced by the 'patch' in your GOG/sacrifice install directory, copy them and put them in a backup file directory. Take the two new files and place them in the sacrifice directory, overwriting what's there.
Launch the multiplayer side of sacrifice and you're golden.

Yeah, it sounds like the game path is hardcoded in the patch installer. If it's just two files, a simple zip file (no installer) would perhaps be more appropriate.
Is this still true? With the game now out on Steam too I think it'll get alot more active multiplayer. The file we gog people need is manual_patching.zip right?
wyt, is there a patch to slow down the speed of the game?
Enemies move so quickly on the screen it's difficult to even
discern what they are, much less react to them in a timely fashion.
I'd like to see a "slider" like the one built into "Original War" that allows
the player to manually adjust game speed.
The game also needs an adjustment to point of view. It's currently
not possible to zoom out enough (or get a decent angle) so you have
some clue as to what's going on. Thanks.
Why can't I click on any of the links, I always get a 404 error message.
