When I start up Sacrifice an error message reading "No valid D3D video cards found" followed by another error message "Error initializing graphics library (-1)"

I'm running Windows XP with a Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT.

I've already re-downloaded and re installed the game multiple times and fiddled with most of the changes suggested in the troubleshooting section of the support articles.

I have no clue what to do about this and any help would be hugely appreciated.

I used to play this version with my 8800, so I'm pretty sure it should work. Have you tried both options from the drop down at the start (Direct 3D, and Direct 3D T&L)?
Hi, is your laptop came with two integrated video card; Intel HD and Nvidia Geforce? If so you might want to look at this solution:

I never get far enough to see any menu with those selection options. This is the first thing I see starting it up and it immediately shuts down after.
