When I start this game I'm given two graphics options, both have had the same result, a black, unresponsive screen. I wait 15 to 30 seconds before pressing ctrl alt delete to force the program to close.

I'm running win 7 64 bit, amd dual core processor. Does anyone know what's going on?
Nvidia or ATI video card?

I don't know how to fix it with ATI but look at this if you have nvidia: http://www.gog.com/forum/sacrifice/windows_7_graphics_fix_here
Nvidia. Thanks. I'll give that a try.

Okay. I ran the program and used a sacrifice profile, adding the sacrifice executable from my gog folder. The pred3d option he says to change isn't there, though.

Personally I've given up. I've tried steam, gog, nvidia inspector, regedit, reinstalling the game reinstalling the drivers, and there is zero definition as to what settings cause the game to work and what causes it to crash on arrival. The game's more fickle than my ex girlfriend. I love sacrifice but jesus these games shouldn't be sold if they just don't work on systems newer than 2003.

You have to press a button so it opens more options. Then you have to find a specific one that is called 0x0090F680, forget the name of it as it may not even show.

Search for that parameter then open it up and give the only option suggested: 0x00000040.

Also, have you tried both with T&H HAL or HAL only? I have no idea what either does, I think T&H makes for some more impressive graphical image due to hardware acceleration but if your card is older or a weaker it's possible HAL should work. I've a GTX470 and I run with T&H HAL and that fixed some performance issue I had along with some colour issue.
