Hi,

Ive searched the forum and found a bunch of threads dealing with similar issues, but now the Scared 2 Gold page does not even state that there would be a multiplayer - just says: Game modes: singe-player

Does anyone have more information on this? - I'd like to buy this game during the offer, but only if I could play it via LAN

Thanks
So assuming that this is the same version as Steam minus the DRM then multiplayer LAN should be available but I would like some clarification also :).
You'll need a VPN like Tunngle to play through the net I believe, it might be possible through IP connection but I never tried that, I played through Tunngle instead. Note that it's through Open Servers so there's no anti-cheat system in place.
alright, thanks so far :)

does "VPN" include things like hamachi? - i'm not too familiar with these thing ;D
It should, because creating a VPN (the easy way) is what hamachi was built for.

Yes, it should. I haven't used hamachi in years because Tunngle was so awesome when it came to gaming, it always worked as long as the game supported IP connection.
sounds good to me!

downloading the game right now :)

Hamachi is my go-to solution in situations like these, never actually tried tunngle, since a friend of mine reported, that it caused quite some problems on his win8 pc (which is also my OS) - what System are you running Tunngle on, Nirth?

Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I had to open a port for Tunngle due to my router but that is the only port I had to open if I play a game through it which incredibly convenient if you play a lot of games through VPNs. :)
alright, good to know :)

thanks, guys!
