I just seen this on GOG right now and made me remember I have it. Installed and patched it, even found my old save file and played a little. My friend seen me doing this and asked me how the multiplayer works. The answer is: "I don't know".

Never played on multiplayer and as far as I see it has no official dedicated servers anymore. I haven't seen IP or other method of direct connection either.

Do you guys have experience making the game work throught internet? Maybe with third party programs, but would be better with some debug commands.

You need a VPN to emulate a LAN over Internet.

So only with VPN or other 3rd party softwares, but it should work as you say.. Okay we give it a try after my friend buy the game from here. I will mark your answer as solution after we tried it. :)
I can confirm that it works. :)

You need to register for Tungle but that's all. Hamachi however generates very high amount of lag for us. I suggest everyone using Tungle.
