I'm not sure what's the cause of this, but first of all I'd update the graphic card's drivers and try running the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7 or Windows XP (right-click the game's shortcut => Preferences => Compatibility tab).

If the glitches still appear, disable all graphics enhancements in your graphic card's control panel and check if this makes a difference. If it does, turn them back on one after another to find the troublemaker.

Try these two:

Open the nVidia Control Panel, then on the left click Manage 3D Settings (maybe it´s slightly different, my language is not english), click Program Settings tab (the second tab), choose a program in the drop-down menu (Sacred - sacred.exe), if it´s not there, click Add and search for the Sacred .exe file manually. Then under this in drop-down menu nr. 2 choose High-power NVIDIA processor and then click Apply (bottom right of the screen).

Try to run the game now. If the glitches still appear, I was able to solve the problem with this: I ran the "Config" file in Sacred folder (Program Files (x86) - Steam - SteamApps - common - Sacred Gold), checked "32-bit Color Depth" and "Filter Active", then the game had no glitches.

If Solun's solution doesn't work for you or you don't have an NVIDIA card, then install a driver that is year old or older. The problem for many people is their graphics driver doesn't have the right DX support for this game. It seems the latest graphics drivers have dropped DX support for old games like Sacred. Sometimes old is better than new...

If no old driver works for you and you still want to play Sacred Gold...there is one other option. Install Linux and play Sacred Gold with playonlinux and wine. It's not hard.
