Ok, so I recently bought Sacred 2 because of the sale but I haven't started it yet. I played sacred 1 when it was released a lot of years ago and I wonder if the second game makes any hints to the previous game or if it is connected (history wise etc) to it and to what degree. I ask this because if it has any connections at all I'll gladly replay the first game before this one.

Sacred 2 is a prequel. It takes place thousands of years before Sacred 1. There are some connections, for example the world map is still basically the same Ancaria, with some alterations.

As stated Sacred 2 Fallen Angel is the prequel of Sacred 1 and Underworld. The end of the game will actually mark the fate of inhabitants of Ancaria and results in a shift of things, which is then seen in Sacred 1. There is not much connection between the games though. The map of Ancaria is completely different in Sacred 2 then that of Sacred 1. For example; in sacred 2 there is a wall between Tyr Lysia and Artamark, where in Sacred 1 there are no walls between regions. And some things are not really explained.
