Hello there, people. I just got the game and have been playing all day, testing out different classes. I decided to go with the battle mage just because his voice sounds better than the rest and he doesn't die the first time you run into a monster after starting a new game.

Thing is, i've left the first town and am in silver creek, and i have been here for a good 4 hours because i can't leave the town without dying. I am a level 7 battle mage using a sword and a shield along with fireball and i can barely seem to handle two level 5-7 goblins, let alone the groups of 10 that rush at you when you set foot outside the town.

My question is, am i doing something wrong? I am playing on silver difficulty, which it said was the "easy" difficulty. Do i need to go back and get to level 15 or something before i can get through this place?
Isn't bronze the easy difficulty?
Getting a few more levels in Bronze would indeed be a good idea.
Also, if you can, get a rune or two for some "crowd control" spells, it helps a LOT against mobs of goblins rushing at you. I suggest Fire Spiral.
Additionally, you should definitely get Agility or Constitution (the former is available since L6; you can select your next skill at L12).
Bronze is the first or default difficulty to start with.

Anyway, in Sacred it's very important to keep the right items and use the right skills to make spells/attacks effective. I would head to the official forums as there are tons of guides and such to help you going in the beginning.

Fireball spell is quite decent. The damage scales great at higher levels, the regeneration time is low (which mean you can eat a lot of runes or use items for it) but remember to keep regeneration down as low as possible. I think I had an old, all around based Battle Mage where I had Fireball on 0.5 seconds regeneration which made be able to shoot it almost all the time, killing most enemies in one to three hits depending on their HP.
