What do Portal Runes do? I don't seem to be able to use them.
What does the enemy counter on the local map mean - does something happen if it reaches 0?
It looks like the Portal Runes will power one of the point-to-point portals (not a pick-your-destination portal) and I have spares because I missed shortcut portals. I was thinking some of the backtracking in this game was unreasonable :)

Quote from Sacred Wiki:
Region Boss Quests are quests that only appear once you have reached 0 in the kill counter. The kill counter is a gauge that appears in the corner of your mini-map when you hit Tab, it shows the total number of enemies in a region and has a countdown of that number as you defeat enemies. When you reach 0 a quest flag will appear in that region to show you where the region boss enemies have spawned. They are a large group of unique boss monsters that you must kill to "Clear the Region". These monsters will always spawn at the same location in any given region.

Thanks! Suppose I should check the wiki, but I kinda want to only learn specific things that are bugging me.
Sounds interesting, but quite daunting for a single player since the count resets on game load. I suppose this would be a nice multiplayer challenge!
