Hi,
Installed the game under Windows7 64bit.
Game starts up, changes to graphical mode, them aborts with a popup message saying that its missing a file in the «data» directory. When I check the directory, the file is there.
Already used compatibility mode, run-as-admin, to no good...
Any hints, anyone?
I've installed the game on a different drive than the system one, can this cause the problem?
Thanks,

DId the file intergrity check go through clean? If so then maybe try reinstalling it with your virus scanner disabled(may want to disconnect from the net while you do so), Also you can run the installed as an admin by right clicking it, giving the install full permissions.
I wouldn't think installing it to a different drive would cause problems, its normally installing things to the defualt program files folder on vista and win7 that cause permission problems.
Hi,
Yep, file integrity went clean and I already installed it twice.
The situation still remains.
It seems that the game is having trouble finding (or reading) its own files.
Any registry settings that I can check?
Vista and Win7 can cause permissions related problems indeed, but usually running the installer as admin and once the game is installed running the game.exe also as admin usually takes care of them.
I'd unisntall and reinstall to the default path just in case...
The file it complains about that it's actually there. Which one is it ?
Hi,
The file was DATAV\DATAVA01.001 - which is under the directory DATAV.
I already went and uninstalled and installed it one more time, now under the default path (under C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\ in my case).
It DID the trick: the game now starts without any strange errors about missing files.
The graphics run beautifully... but is there any hints on how to change the video resolution to full widescreen?
Thanks a lot.

That's great and you are welcome ;)
I don't have Runaway, so i'm not sure about the widescreen aspect.
I'd start by looking for a config or ini file to see if it can be manually edited.
In any case, i'll look around a bit and i'll post back here if i find something specific.
Your 'Lusitania Jedi' tag is awesome btw ;)

Sadly, most of the older games on GOG were programmed at 4:3 aspect ratio. There's no way to run it widescreen.
