shmerl: Thanks for the Linux release!

There seems to be some problem with video sequences (intros and such). They don't work on Linux. For example CS_PROLOG_01_Przemo_w_windzie.bik doesn't play at all before first tutorial level opens up.

Does the game store some run log somewhere? I don't see any relevant output in the terminal.

Distro: Debian testing, x86_64. I've seen something about gsm, but I have libgsm1 installed.

Kaaedus: Experiencing this issue under Ubuntu 17.10 as well. The only potentially relevant terminal output I get is "Warning: option --plugin-path no longer exists."
Nice catch, shmerl and Kaaedus! We're fixing this as well as the quality of cutscenes, so it should be much better with the newest update. Stay tuned :)
So soonish playable :-) Maybe I ought to check out some videos of how it plays as I am not really convinced the game is for me.

muszdinozaura: EDIT: It's coming in a couple of days. Brace yourselves :)

Please try the latest version as we just published an update that should take care of the issue with the game's movies :)

Thanks! Just tested it, and it cutscenes work fine now! Just for the reference, latest Mesa is needed to play the game. There are glitches with older versions (this would be good to reflect in minimum requirements).

Cutscenes are good now. I noticed one minor glitch (not really criticial). In the starting screen, if your resolution is 16:10 (like 1920x1200), there are garbled colors on top and bottom, since the background looping video (CS_PROLOG_01_LOOP_1088.bik) is 16:9.

Another strange thing, I see that the game copies videos (*.bik) into $HOME/.config/Epic/Ruiner/Saved/Bink/Movies
which just wastes disk space, since exactly same videos are already in the game installation directory under game/Ruiner/Content/Movies. Why is it even copying static video files?

Another thing regarding 16:10 (1920x1200). Even during gameplay, there are black bars on top and bottom, and the game doesn't scale the picture to 16:10.

Thanks a lot for releasing a Linux version. I bought it when I saw it. :) (Still no time yet to play, aaargh!)
Sorry, I don't get it…
How many patches the game has? There are rumors about "the final patch" being unavailable on GOG.
Anyone having any luck using their DS4 controller with the linux version of Ruiner? I've paired mine over bluetooth, but it doesn't register any input in-game.

I've just bought and installed the game and unfortunately I'm still unable to see any cutscenes or tutorials :(
