Can anyone who's bought this confirm whether it's the UK or the US version?

The "Real Parks" all appear to be UK ones. Any other easy way to check?

If there's a ride called 'Scrambled Eggs' it's the US version, it's called the Twist here. The thing that made me suspicious this was the US version was the fact they mentioned Corkscrew Follies when it was called Added Attractions here.

Masem: Scrambled Eggs confirmed.
D'aww. =(

Not a dealbreaker, but I'd rather play the original version of the game (Chris Sawyer is British).

Thanks for checking for me.

What are the differences, besides the names?

Playing it in the background right now, and i love it,
but i second that motion actually.
It's still the same brilliant thing, but just for nostalgic purpose.

AFAIK it's just a localisation, so it's probably only text differences. I was just hoping to retire my disc copy but I'll probably hold onto it since it's only the (much more common) US version sold here.
I do know that the executables are different and that using a UK patch on the US version and vice versa would be a bad idea.

So some of the changes may be hard coded and not just in the data files.
Is there a language file in the installation maybe? If so, I wonder if a copy paste job from a UK version would replace the ride names?

Also, if I remember rightly you could select your currency in the game settings. Does this version default to US dollars then?

I can confirm that it does.
As I said, it's nothing major. It'd just be nice from a preservation point of view if GOG had the 'original' version.
Well I know for a fact that all the rides/scenery/object data is stored in the various .dat files found in the Data folder. You've been able to edit the objects since the first game came out there were entire communities built around this unofficial modding aspect.

Edit: Found the link describing all the various utilities available. http://www.strategyplanet.com/rctuk/tid/Utilities.html

Well i'm sure they read this,
so maybe they update it some day with a additional version.
I remember when they fixed the issues with broken sword,
gog cares so let's be patient.

If it really is just a text file, maybe making it multi-lingual would be a nice touch.
