So I bought Rollercoaster Tycoon 2: Triple Thrill Pack yesterday and have spent hours trying to get it to start on Windows 7.

When I try to launch it, I get the error message - "Unable to initialize graphics system."

I've seen this reported elsewhere on here, but can't see a solution.

I've tried troubleshooting this in every way - from running all the many various compatibility modes (including all the combinations of every OS, 256 colours, 640x480 screen resolution) running as an administrator and manually lowering the screen resolution.

I've made sure Windows is up to date. I've made sure my graphics card drivers are up to date. I've tried re-installing the game.

I recently bought Rollercoaster Tycoon: Deluxe Edition from GOG and it works like a dream.

Any ideas?

I have a similar issue. My game will start but it won't display. Sad Day.

It worked for me to only set compatibility mode to Windows 7 and change nothing else. Have you already tried that?
