When I click on the shortcut for the game on the desktop an error box immediately comes up saying "RCT.exe cannot be started". The game played fine when when I clicked the play optino right after installing it.

Right click the launcher and select "Run as administrator". That worked for me :)

I had the same problem, tried running as administrator, got to the menu but when I clicked the new game button, nothing happened and then it just closed. I'm running on Windows 7.

Cruxy: Right click the launcher and select "Run as administrator". That worked for me :)
