the game just won't start I have tried doing what other posts have said to do but it just won't! (running windows 8)

Have you tried different compatibility modes (98, 2000, XP and 7). XP mode often works, also activate the option to run the game as administrator on the compatibility tab.

Go to the game's installation folder, right-click RCT.exe, select Properties and you'll find the options on the Compatibility tab. Now start the game directly with RCT.exe.

Okay, downloaded EMET 5.0 from Microsoft and used that to set DEP, ASLR, and SEHOP to application Opt In. After rebooting, RCT worked with no admin rights or compat mode needed! I also imported the EMET Popular Software configuration to add DEP, ASLR, and SEHOP back to high risk software... That should help lower the security risk of disabling those features in the OS.

My symptoms were that RCT.exe flashed in the task manager, but nothing happened on the screen. No matter how many times i clicked, it appeared like nothing was happening!

All seems to be working now! Can't wait to try a few level tomorrow!
