Hey guys, first post here on the GOG forums.

I've been searching around for the past few days both here on this forum, and the rest of the web, and can't seem to find a solution.

I'm having an issue where no music is playing within RCT3, and sounds while playing are at a minimum.

I could try to explain in words, but I figured it'd be better if I just had a video, so I recorded one real quick and threw it on YouTube.

Here it is: h t t p : / / b i t . l y / 1 Q P J w a R
Remove all spaces from link. Had to add them to get around GOGs spam filter.

As you can see, on the menus, you only hear the sound of clicking buttons, and within game you only hear sound as you zoom in. No ride sounds, and no music are heard at any point throughout the game.

Things I tried:
Enabling DirectPlay through windows
Verify .wav files in the RCT folder play out of game (they do)
Restarting PC, and game several times

If anyone has any ideas or thoughts, I'd greatly appreciate the help. The music and ride sounds make the game!

Thanks a ton.

Did you make sure music volume isn't set to zero in the game options?

Yes. And to make sure the game wasn't glitching out and saying the volume was at 100 even though it wasn't, I set the volume to 0, accepted changes, turned it back to 100 and accepted changes again. No dice.
So, you don't have any music in the menu when you launch the game ?
Is there a quiet music when you're zooming the farest away possible (camera "in the sky") ?

And have you tried to put a music on into an attraction ? (and then to come VERY close to it with the camera, try at max zoom level)

One thing you must know is, if I'm not wrong, that sounds in the game can be heard only when you're very close to the things who are doing it (people, attractions). Especially attractions that you can only hear when you're very, very close to them.
In the base game, there is music in 3 situations (if I remember well) : when you put music in an attraction and have the camera close to it (and it's not very loud), when you zoom out at max, to view all your park : there is a music playing when you reach one given altitude, and finally when there is a pyrotechnic (MixMaster) show.
The extension(s) enable you to put speakers in paths, speakers in which you can put music and set the volume : they can be heard from more distance than attractions.

It makes me think : have you tried to hear a music while creating a MixMaster show ?

Oh, and of course : welcome to the forum :)
