After a long time, I finally got RCT2 back, and it is the gog.com version. I have been having problems with this on Windows 8. When I go to play, it says it stops running. It says that 2 times until it lets me play. I have lots of problems with saving and loading. Today, I was working on my park, and I couldn't save my coasters. :( I tried to save the game multiple times, but the saving file explorer never came up. When I clicked to quit the game, it asked me to save. I hit save and exit, but nothing popped up and it crashed. I need help because I really don't want this happening, as it has happened twice now.

Windows 8 comes with DirectX 11, which misses an older library from version 9. Installing DirectX9 will complete your system if a component is missing:

Saving and loading issues sometimes vanish when running the game as Administrator. (Right-click the game's shortcut => Run as ...)
You can also try compatibility mode for Win XP or even older Windows (right-click the game's shortcut => Properties => Compatibility tab).

Furthermore try all the above with the RCT.exe file in your game's directory and use that to start the game instead of the desktop shortcut.
