I just bought RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 yesterday and had it working fine; no glitches or issues, even when I minimized it and opened it back up. Even just earlier today I was having no problems at all.
Now, the game will not remain open at all; when I run the game, it will attempt to go full screen and instead of running normally, the screen will flash dark gray, black, and white, and occasionally show bits of the taskbar, windows, and the main menu of the game (after it has loaded that far). After flashing for a few seconds, it will then minimize. If I click on the minimized program on my taskbar, it will repeat the process, sometimes playing music of the main menu for a few seconds before it minimizes again.
I have attempted to force it into windowed mode using the -w and -window tricks, restarted my computer, and tried to run the game in various compatibility modes.
Some computer information that may or may not help:
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium; Service Pack 1; 64-bit
Computer type: Alienware 18, laptop
RAM: 8 GB
DirectX version: DirectX 11
