I have a Windows 64 bit computer, and I just got RCT1, and when I try to boot it, it gives me this:

exception raised - access violation
error location: windows display driver

Any ideas?

Hey, I'm having the exact same issue. Has anybody found a way to fix this? I'm dying to play RC1.

Don't have a clue if this will help you or not..but when I first downloaded this gem I was not able to access it via the shortcut link on the desktop, I got error messages too, don't remember what they were...I had to go to the file the game was located in and start the game from there instead. Hope that is your problem too.
I'm also having this same issue and launching from the folder doesn't help. Would really like to play this game.

Well I have read around a little on the internet about that windows display driver error message...What I have come up with is that maybe your graphics cards driver needs to be updated, or perhaps your directx? I don't recall if Directx was bundled with GOG's RCT1 installation or not, but if it was, be sure you do install that. Here is a link for DirectX:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35
And GOG provides links to graphic card drivers here:
http://www.gog.com/support/support_view/_i_b_read_first_b_Common_troubleshooting_steps_i_
Note #3 where it talks about DirectX too...There is also other info on this page that may solve the problem..Some times it just takes trial and error.
Hopefully one of these things will help you guys out...I'm no whizz, but keep at it, and I have a feeling you'll get it going. Good luck :)
