So I first played RC1 from a disk from a cereal box (the good old day's of great games in cereal boxes!) and I was going to buy RC1 soon, I know it's 5 bucks but when you've got a pre-paid credit card it's best not to "waste" it on games... parents dumb rules...

Anyways, I was going to buy it but I'm seeing some problems on the forums, so my question is, "is it worth buying?"

I really want it but don't want to take the chance of blowing 6 bucks on it when I could buy something else you know? It's been on my wishlist for a while but...

It's been a while since you posted this and you might have come to a decision since then, but personally I would recommend buying RCT1 if you like managerial/building sim games. The managerial part of it is a bit simplified, but the building part is quite good and the rollercoasters work according to accurate laws of physics, and the game also lets you be creative with how you build your own amusement park. If you want an even wider selection of attractions to build, you might as well go for RCT2 and skip the first, as the second offers a lot more stuff to build and has bigger maps. If you're worried about spending money, you could wait until the Christmas sale, although I'm not sure if the games will still be available at that time since they are going to be removed from GOG's catalogue around the end of the year - I think - due to licensing issues with the new owners.

Hmm... Ok, yeah still debating whether I should buy it or not... I'd like to wait because then it'l be cheaper but at the same time I don't want to miss my chance... gah I don't know what to do because I really want it but I need to start conserving money... hmm decisions decisions...

If you have free 6 bucks to spend it's a good purchase, but if you need to hold on to every penny at the moment you don't have to buy it, it's only a computer game, after all.

It's not that I have to save every penny, it's just I'm not sure if I want to spend the 6 bucks on that or something else lol, thanks for the help though
I would go for RCT2 instead of the first. You get wider selection of roller coasters, buildings and themes.
The gameplay is the same as the first one.

*edit: Ok did not realise the first one was cheaper, my bad*

Again, as an earlier poster said, I'm sorry to revive an older topic. But, if you still haven't made a decision, GOG is having a Black Friday sale, which includes both RCT1, 2, and even 3. If you're still on the fence, now may a good time to splurge.

Good luck!
Yeah, sadly I don't have any means of buying online at this time which sucks because there are great sales going on all over the place. I'll pick it up next sale hopefully if I get a way to buy online by then.
