I might as well open this by saying I got my copy of RCT2 over on Gamersgate as opposed to GOG, because they had it on sale (would've bought it here otherwise). However their version doesn't work particularly well - the game won't run unless I have a No-CD patch, and even then one of the expansions doesn't load.

So I'm asking anybody who's bought this on GOG: how well does RCT2 work? Does it work flawlessly for everyone? I don't really want to spend my money without knowing for sure o~o

Im having the exact same issue :(
Also bought it at gamersgate due to the discount...
Well it's hard to speak for all who bought this game. I'm sure theres some people who have problems running it but nearly als many as with RCT1.

I for one (Win7/64) don't have problems running the game. The UAC pops up when I want to run the game, which is only mildly annoying. Other than that, you need to disable visual themes in the compatibility settings in order to be able to load or save a game.

Have played scenarios from the main game and both expansions as well as fanmade scenario packs for the original RCT2. Only once did a fan-scenario not load properly with the game exiting because of an "object not found" error. A second try fixed it, however.
Thank you for sharing.
I also got it on GamersGate and can't play it because of a crashing copy protection that shouldn't be there in the first place (they advertise it as DRM free). Still waiting for a reply from GamersGate support. Someone on GG said he got a refund and if they're unable to fix the game i hope to get my money back, too.

Have any of you received a reply from support yet?

I got a refund from GG on the game. I had to haggle with them to get an actual monetary refund rather than blue coins, however, so be prepared!

There was a thread on the issue over on GG, but it seems to have been removed. The solution was to use the Wacky Worlds No-CD patch to get around the bizarre DRM nightmare they've got going on.

It worked for me and a couple of others in the same thread.

Future readers of this thread: buy all your games from GOG.com, they work every time ;)

I got a refund too and as two new DLCs for Warlock just released on GG i was happy with the "basic" blue coin refund and just went back to my CD version of RCT2. :)
