The author seems to be active on game development, so I'll try to ask for some improvements on how the MAPs are working.

This is a really cool project, thanks for your work.

MINI MAP: As static as it is I find difficult to use it effectively, I always have to look at the compass to compare my actual direction to the north of the map.

I propose two options to be added:
- a rotating minimap, so that the top of the map will always be your actual direction
- fixed map (as of now), but with a rotating @ so that at least it is visible the pointed direction (like how the full map works)

FULL MAP: It is very cool to be able to toggle it and play directly with it !! But I think it is missing a use-case, playing Rogue in a "classic" way...

I propose this option for the MAP (at least when toggled on):
Rogue-Mode = The @ will not rotate and when pressing a direction (with WASD) it will be counted also as an attack in that direction.

Thanks
Yeah I've gotten a couple complaints about that exact issue with the minimap before.
I was thinking of adding an arrow around your @ symbol to show which direction you're facing but having the map rotate might be better.
As the the controls when on the map screen, I've thought about putting in controls pretty much exactly how you describe them but the issue is that aiming ranged weapons and wands becomes tough. It's still something I want to put in eventually but I'm still thinking about what the best way to implement it would be.
Thanks for giving me your feedback!
